Fair Isle Flower hat for babies



Materials:
Size 7 straight needles
white, pink, green, purple yarn
tapestry needle

Pattern:
Cast on 66 sts
Rows 1-5: *K1, P1* to end
Row 6: Knit in white
Row 7: Purl in white
Next 12 rows: Work chart (Chart is worked in St. stitch. The chart isn't very good, it may be easier to draw it out on graph paper before starting. I only did 4 1/2 flowers on the chart, but on the hat they go all the way around.)


Dec rows:
Row 1: *K4, K2 tog*
Row 2: Purl
Row 3:*K3, K2 tog*
Row 4: Purl
Row 5: *K2, K2 tog*
Row 6: Purl
Row 7: *K1, K2 tog*
Row 8: *P2 tog*


Finishing:
Cut a long tail to sew up back seam. Thread yarn through remaining sts and sew up back seam. Weave in all loose ends

Picot Edge Two Needle Mittens For Babies


Picot edge: *cast on 5, bind off 2* repeat using cable cast on
Materials:
Size 5 needles
Size 7 needles
Large-eyed tapestry needles
2 stitch markers
Size H crochet hook
1 skein orange 100% cotton yarn
1 skein pink 100% cotton yarn
Pattern(make 2)

With size 5 needles and orange,
  • Work picot edge until there are 30 sts on needle
  • Garter stitch for 2 inches, include picot edge in the measurement

Eyelet Row:

  • *Knit 1, yarn over, k2tog* repeat to end
  • Knit in garter stitch 1 inch, place marker on the last stitch at each end of needle
  • Knit 2 inches in garter stitch
  • *Knit 4, k2tog* repeat to end
  • Knit 1 row
  • *Knit 3, k2tog* repeat to end
  • Knit 1 row
  • *Knit 2, k2tog* repeat to end
  • Knit 1 row
  • *Knit 1, k2tog* repeat to end
  • Knit 1 row
  • *K2tog* repeat to end
  • Place remaining sts on holder

Cut yarn, leaving a 2 foot long tail

Thumb: (make 2)

Go back to marker, pick up and knit 5 sts, moving towards the top of the mitten

  • K6 rows
  • k1, k2tog, k2
  • k2tog twice
  • Bind off sts

Finishing:

With size 7 needles and pink yarn, make a flower.

  • cast on 56 sts
  • *k1, BO7* repeat to end, k1
  • gather sts tog, thread yarn through remaining sts, sew to front of mitten.

Using size H crochet hook and 2 strands of yarn, make a 20" chain.

Fold mitten in half, using the 2 foot tail, thread through remaining sts and sew up side of mitten.

Thread the string through eyelet row. Tie a bow.

Hippie Mushroom Beret For Babies










Instructions are for girl version, but can be made into boy version by repeating 3 colors instead of 4



Matierials:

For girl's version
1 skein pink 100% cotton yarn
1 skein orange 100% cotton yarn
1 skein purple 100% cotton yarn
1 skein blue 100% cotton yarn

For boy's version
1 skein red 100% cotton yarn
1 skein white 100% cotton yarn
1 skein blue 100% cotton yarn

For both versions
Size 5 needles
Size 7 needles
Large-eyed tapestry needle

Pattern:
With size 5 needles,
Cast on 88 sts

K 1 row pink
K1 row orange (or orange 1st st, blue next st, keep alt to end)
P1 row blue (or blue 1st st, orange next st, keep alt to end)
K2 rows pink

Change to size 7 needles
Work 10 rows St. st in purple

K2 rows pink
K2 rows orange
K2 rows blue
K2 rows purple
K2 rows pink

Decrease Rows
Orange: 1st row: *K2tog, k9* repeat to end
next row: Knit

Blue: next row: *K2tog, k8* repeat to end
next row: Knit

Purple: next row: *K2tog, k7* repeat to end
next row: Knit

Pink: next row: *K2tog, k6* repeat to end
next row: Knit

Orange: 1st row: *K2tog, k5* repeat to end
next row: Knit

Blue: next row: *K2tog, k4* repeat to end
next row: Knit

Purple: next row: *K2tog, k3* repeat to end
next row: Knit

Pink: next row: *K2tog, k2* repeat to end
next row: Knit

Orange: next row: *K2tog, k1* repeat to end
next row: *K2tog* repeat to end

Cut yarn, thread through remaining sts, weave in loose ends and sew seam
